Temple Sha'arey Shalom Hosts Interfaith Thanksgiving Service

On Monday, November 21, Temple Sha'arey Shalom of Springfield proudly hosted this year's Springfield Community Thanksgiving Service.   Rabbi Joshua Goldstein, completing his 30th and final year as Temple Sha'arey Shalom's Rabbi, offered the sermon.  He was joined by clergy from Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael, First Presbyterian Church and St. James Roman Catholic Church.   In addition, Springfield's Mayor Hugh Keffer delivered the Presidential Proclamation and members of Springfield's First Aid Squad were honored with a special blessing.   Musical selections were performed by the Springfield Community Children's Choir and choirs from the other congregations.  Photo, from left (back row) Reverend Vicky Ney, First Presbyterian Church, Monsignor William Hatcher, St. James, Deacon Jerry Bongiovanni , St. James, Reverend James Worth, St. James,  Rabbi Joshua Goldstein, Temple Sha'arey Shalom, Rabbi Mark Mallach, Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael,   Front row:  Cantor Richard Nadel, Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael and Cantor Amy Daniels, Temple Sha'arey Shalom.
